I don't have much time to chat so I am just going to post pictures of the last couple of days!

Sweet Treats

I want to bake. I want to make every cake in the entire world. I also want to make dozens of cupcakes. This desire just crept up yesterday afternoon. This is very unuasl for me because I normally only want to cook dinners and pastas and things of that nature. I have never wanted to bake.
I want to bake.
Last night, I made a carrot cake for Brian. He loves carrot cake. Tonight I would like to bake cupcakes from scratch! Maybe I will buy the icing...uhmmm.

Spring Shoes

I have been hesitant to purchase ANY kind of clothing apparel and/or shoe for the spring and upcoming summer. I fear that I will become a whale again and anything that I think I can wear now will only be put away for an entire winter only to be out of style come the next year's spring and summer. So, I have not bought anything spring-y lately. I have only made spring purchases for our apartment. (which has become a whole new hobby for me. The whole "look for less" makes soooo much more sense in the decorating world than it does in the fashion world for me...I am digging do-it-yourself projects and flea market finds. Considering all of our furniture is second hand along with the majority of our decorative items, I think it is a good thing for me to get into this hobby! I'm loving it. More on that later, though.)
Alright, the biggest thing that I have been concerned about is finding a decent pair of flip flops or something to accommodate this pregnancy and look super cute. With Jack I went from a size 6 shoe to a size 7. I wore this not so cute pair of yellow box flip flops up until he was born. ugh.
I broke down yesterday and went for style instead of worrying about all of the above mentioned and purchased something cute and springy to wear for the next month or so. I am satisfied with my decision and I have received a ton of compliments so far. you like?
My point: sometimes the idea of getting big can be overwhelming. Buying something that allowed me to focus less on the figure I'm about to acquire and more on looking hip in spring made me happy. Of course, this may not always happen but when it does, it feels pretty nice.
By the way-people at work are already asking me if I'm preggers...students too. I show so easily.

Good Morning friends! I don't have too much time to blog this morning. I have to figure out what my little 7th grade chickens will be doing today in class. I wanted to post a few pictures of Easter and this past weekend. So...enjoy!


This past weekend we took Jack to Kids Space in Huntsville. It's a little park that has a gazillion things to play on! Jack wasn't so sure about most of the wooden castles, but he did enjoy swinging and walking around like a big boy.

Yes, this did happen when Brian and Jack took Dale outside Sunday morning.

DIY and Ice Cream Sundaes!

This little baby of mine has sparked some kind of creative nerve in my body. I have always been rather creative, but I could never find the right "project" to release my creative juices. (I can think of a gazillion fun things to do at school, but never at home.) This growing angel of mine has really brought some maternal, creative, nesting, something out of me.
Check out my latest projects:
I re-covered my kitchen table chairs. The cushions before were sooo ugly. Brian actually picked out the new fabric. I did the handy work though!
My very cool painting with an "S" strategically placed in the center.
AND finally...my new coffee table...
I am going to sand it and put a neat finish on the table. I got it for 20.00! It needs some love and I plan on lovin it!

Smashed Chocolate and Easter Bunny Ears

Brian's birthday and Easter Sunday fell on the same day this year! So, along with ham, roast, potatoes, deviled eggs, stuffed mushrooms, broccoli casserole, broccoli salad, roasted veggies, rolls, and Easter Bunny candy, we had cake too!
We didn't manage to take any family shots of us in our Easter garb. I was too hot, Jack was cranky, and as always, Brian was just along for the ride.
Jack loved his Easter basket. By the end of the day, Brian and I concluded that Jack will do anything for chocolate...even if it is smashed into the concrete!!

How Many Weeks??

I am 8 big weeks pregnant! Brian, Jack, and I went to the doctor yesterday afternoon. The new baby's birthday is set for November 7th! Jack and the little brother or sister will be exactly two years apart. (Remember that Jack's birthday is on the 18th of Nov.)
The baby or should I say kidney bean or lima bean is healthy with a strong heart beat!
We couldn't be more thrilled!!
