A Trip to the Island

A few weekends ago, the entire family got together in Dauphin Island. My aunt has a home there and it has always been the best place in the world to spend time with family. Honestly, I love seeing my cousins and aunts, my grandmother, and my uncle. It was ecspecially exciting because Jack was able to celebrate his great-gommy's 82nd birthday with her. My heart filled with delight the moment I knew that we were all going to be together. Nothing was going to stop Brian, Jack, and I from going down there. I really made Brian drive all the way down to the Island, by himself, because he couldn't get away from work on the day we were set to leave. The last time that I went to Dauphin Island was to celebrate what my mother, her sisters, and her mother deemed "The Gibson Girl Weekend." It was great because for the first time all of the girl cousins were allowed to attend the weekend celebration! (It meant we were finally adults!) This long weekend was even better because I had my baby Jack and my husband to show off to my family. I must say, they were very impressed!

how fun!! I am dying to take Ada to the beach. When I was there this past weekend with my college friends, I was thinking about how much she would love it. What did Jack think of the sand?

We actually stayed at the house and fished off of the peir most of the time. We didn't even make it to the beach shore!!!
