oh, I miss my blogging world. I always get so excited about checking my google account for new blog postings by others. I also love updating my blog. I have so many fun pictures to post and none of them with me. (remember...the computer is still down and I am having to use another computer far from home) Jack is rolling over and we are diligently practicing the word Mama! I gave Jack carrots yesterday and they ended up in both nostrils, eyes, hair, everywhere! Needless to say, he was more excited about playing with his food than eating it! He is rotten and I love every bit of him! Also, Brian and I will be going to the beach in May and it is all that I think about. I wake up each morning knowing that my toes will soon be emerged in sand. I look forward to sand being on Jack's toes. Another plus, I have actually started to think about teaching again. It has been a good seven months that I wanted nothing to do with work...not because I don't love to teach, I do, I just have had different thoughts lately...and I am pretty sure that things are starting to look a little brighter around here. Thank goodness! And trust me, I know that the sentence above is in no way grammatically correct, and this one may not be either...I am just happy to get a blog post up!
Pictures are soon to follow! I hope that everyone is enjoying April!

So Tragic
Our computer has a virus. I am posting this via my parent's house. We have to buy a spyware kit from the store to fix our computer. Knowing Brian and I, this could take several days. So, if you are missing all of my oh-so-exciting blog updates...don't fret, they will return soon! Until then, make sure your spyware is updated! If not, you may become a victim of this April Fools Day virus...no I'm not playing an April Fools on you, that is the name of the vicious virus. Be back soon!

Put a Bow on It!!!
Jack was born with a full head of dark hair. It was gorgeous. Somehow, he has managed to rub every last bit of it off. I had to lay a little satin blanket in his crib to help stop him from getting his hair matted. The only thing that remains is this patch of long hair right on the top of his head. It literally looks like a comb over when I brush it down. It is even too long to put it in a mohawk; it just falls over. It is the most adorable thing. I know that babies usually loose their hair after they are born, and Jack is no exception to this rule, but the long patch of hair on top of Jack's head is just too much fun. A lot of people tell us to cut it, but I just have a real problem cutting his four month old hair. I have always said that if he were a girl I would tie it up in a bow.....well, the other night...I did just that - minus the bow. These are pictures he will hate me for when he is in middle school. I just couldn't resist, though. I have been sick this past weekend, and I think the cold medicine started to take its toll, and Jack somehow ended up with a little pony tail!!
It's kind of hard to tell in the pictures, but if you look closely you will see his new do! And, of course, his hand is in his mouth!

It's like a little sumo wrestler! so much fun!
I promised him I wouldn't ever do that to him again!!!

A visit from Uncle Thomas
This weekend was a blast! My brother Thomas came into town for a visit with Jack. Thomas lives and works in Nashville, so it can be a while before we get to see each other. Luckily, Thomas was able to make some time in his busy schedule to make it home. Jack couldn't have been more excited! Jack was even given his very first set of drum sticks! Thanks, Thomas...we'll wait on the drum set though!
We were also able to make it down to Chris and Ginger's house for an evening of food and fun! Bronson and Jack are a month or so apart and it is so cute to see them together.
I love a weekend with family. I don't think there is anything better.

Yummy!

My baby loves sweet potatoes! yes, I know it seems a little early, but the child is just tired of his bottle. I am in no way kidding you on this. I will go to give him a bottle and I know he's hungry, and he will flat out refuse to drink the thing! You should see the little dance and song I have to preform just to get his attention off of the fit he is having and direct his attention to the wonderful big bottle of food! It is really a mind boggling sight. Now, don't get me wrong, it doesn't happen at every feeding...but it's enough to make me reevaluate what's going on. So, instead of trying to fight him on his four o'clock bottle, I decided that sweet potatoes should do the trick. And, they did successfully. Because Jack has reflux, he has always had cereal in his bottles, this has also allowed me to mix up some thick, milkshake like bottles and feed him just cereal before. Feeding him with a spoon was not too much of a concern of mine. I just don't want my baby growing up so fast. It has become clear to me that he is really just bored with his little bottle. Bless his heart. So, we are extremely excited about the new experience of tasting a different kind of food! Yummy!

So nice

Last night we were able to get away from it all and just sit and be a family. Brian and I went to my parents house for an evening of food, wine, and fun. The weather was so perfect for it too. It was really the first time that we got to sit with Jack outside. It has just been too chilly for him. Dale was even able to make the trip too! We grilled our steaks, played with Dale, and enjoyed the sunset together. I don't think it could have been any better. We were also delighted in the fact that we got to eat outside on the patio. So nice. I look forward to so many more evenings like this. What a way to relax.

A Lot of Fun
It has been a busy couple of days around here! Yesterday was great. Brian was able to come home form work super early and we were all able to walk Dale together. It is so much fun to watch Dale chase birds in an open field. It was even more exciting now that Jack was able to go with us! We loaded up the car and all headed out to some big soccer fields so that Dale could get some energy out! I think Jack enjoyed his time with his daddy and his big dog. It won't be too much longer when Jack will be yelling out to Dale to "go get 'em!" (go get the birds, that is!) Here are a few shots from yesterday evening!
Daddy and Jack
Dale is re-hydrating
and there go the birds!
It was also a really exciting weekend for us! We spent time with family on Friday evening. Brian worked and played softball on Saturday, and then on Sunday we went to Jacksonville so that Brian could spend some time with his growing boy! It is always so much fun to go to Jacksonville; it reminds me so much of when things were so much easier! Anyhow, Brian and Jamarius spent the afternoon at a playground...swinging, running, jumping, sliding, and picking up rocks...Brian even has a few special ones picked just for him!
Too Cute!
And... a trip to Jacksonville would not be complete without visiting Brandie and Jamie and their two beautiful girls! Let me just tell you, I have not been able to get Brian to stop talking about the Wii that he now wants.
Obviously, we spent some time playing MarioCart! It was a lot of fun!
On our way back to Huntsville, we stopped by Chris and Ginger's house! There is always something fun happening there! They gave us some wonderful steaks, that are currently marinating in the fridge, that we are going to devour tonight with asparagus and salad! yum! Thanks family!! We made it home around 9:45 pm, Jack took a bottle and slept until 7:30 the next morning!! So great!
I hope everyone is enjoying the week thus far!!!
